FROGMAN: Kodiak Cold
Kodiak Cold
After the sandy welcome of Coronado, endless pool time during dive training, patrolling, airborne operations and a host of other skills the last stop on the pipeline to an operational team is 28 days in the far north of Alaska at the SEAL cold weather detachment in Kodiak Alaska.
No man likes being both cold and wet, but that's exactly what Kodiak is there to expose candidates to and teach them what it takes to survive. Part survival, part arctic operational training, Kodiak Island is the last stop before the teams, which means even here a candidate must be in there peak form. No one wants to land at a team and need to do extra PT to catch up.
Inspired by the demands of cold weather operations and the peak fitness most SEALs need to achieve before getting the blessing to be operational, we have designed a challenge to make you earn the next stop on the journey.
The format should be familiar - run, swim, run - but we add some spice to break up the long miles and keep your head in the game by adding some PT movements. If you get cold... work harder, it will warm you back up.After the sandy welcome of Coronado, endless pool time during dive training, patrolling, airborne operations and a host of other skills the last stop on the pipeline to an operational team is 28 days in the far north of Alaska at the SEAL cold weather detachment in Kodiak Alaska.
